The plants are getting almost too big for me to detect amongst the crop but at this time of the year places to detect are pretty thin on the ground, so l had to be very careful and go slowly. so l didn't get too much ground covered but eventually l got used to the forced new style of detecting and had quite a few finds mainly buttons and shotgun cartridges to show for the effort, then a small but very sharp signal made me stop to find the target, which proved to be very elusive and although not very deep l kept on loosing it, finally there it was a small almost black disc only 9.5 mm. which turned out to be a Hammered Silver Farthing of Richard 2nd (1377.to 1399) and weighing in at 0.25 grams. and in very nice order too.

Wow it's tiny! Good find. 👍

Great that you found such a tiny silver coin, I know our 3 cent silver piece is hard to find, especially without a pinpointer and that coin is 14mm in diameter and .75 grams in weight. Congrats on such a nice find.

Yeap, thats a good-un!

Nice find Soapy!

Very nice find! Congrats on the recovery.

Thanks for sharing you Finds. I swing the detector slow and hear alot of Faint Signals-Pictures of some of the small items I dug last month are on the left side of my display case. Most of the items are from the 1800,s and found acroos The Pond in the U> S > A>-goldnuggetMay 2015 1.webpThe items on the Left is Flat Buttons

Amazing detecting skills there! With finds like that you can be sure you're swinging properly!!!
