Age of a bicycle tag?

Hello!

Today, I dug this bicycle tag in Eugene Oregon. Its aluminum ~ measures 60mm wide by 40 mm tall ~ reads, "CITY OF IDAHO FALLS 4077 BICYCLE".

Any idea how old it is? What years were these made/used?

Id hazard a guess its a safe bet your license is older by a good bit as its number 4077 as opposed to 8000 on the ebay example.

Pretty sure that your tag is older than the one on ebay, the manufacture is more crude and there is a single screw hole.
The other one, made later when the city had gathered enough money from the tags to improve them is much beter
manufactured, two mounting holes, cut off corners and such.

Why not write the city and ask Just include the photo....
