This weeks been interesting. its felt like a really long week though, lots of things that have happened but mostly i just have way too much time on my hands as i took a few days off work.
On with the finds.
12/7 - 2 boxes of HALVES: skunked.
12/9 - 330$ in dimes -> 1 Rosie, 1 mercury dime (my first!)
later that day - 2 boxes of Dimes -> 7 Rosies and 1 merc (two in one day! ) 10 silver dimes all day.
12/10 - 200$ in dimes -> 1 Rosie
12/11 - 2 boxes of dimes -> 3 Rosies, 2 mercs.
I was supposed to get 2 more boxes of halves in on friday but that shipment was for some reason delayed until tuesday. Im not very hopeful about my luck with halves.
OTHER UPDATES:
While dumping about 400$ worth of halves at the penny arcade with some aid from an older woman teller, i was informed that there was a nearby branch that had a much higher volume coin sorter and itd be much quicker for me to dump there. i told her thanks and lugged about 1k in change to the other branch. They dumped it in about a minute flat. The guy at the branch asked if we were lookin for silver and we nodded yes, and had mentioned that some guys stroll in with about 10K in coins each time they dump. Im suddenly feeling some serious competition floating around in the area, but there are a LOT of banks around... so it may not be too much direct competition, i dont know.
Ive gained very good rapport with one teller at a bank that moves smaller volumes of coins (they cant even order halves there unfortunately) to the point that she asked what they looked like, and that perhaps if she ever came across any she could hold them aside for me. i was pretty ecstatic to hear that, so ill have to take in some of my newly acquired rosies and mercs to show her the difference. Amusingly her male counterpart teller seems quite a bit less than enthusiastic by my periodic drop-ins.
My potential volume seems to have increased with this new news, and also i might get a few free silver dimes a month out of the deal if the teller (who seems to work there everyday) can manage to scrape up a few lucky finds.
Im still not having quite as much luck as some of you and find myself incredibly envious, but im still new so im hoping to hit a big jackpot sooner than later.
