What does the other side of that one look like?
The one that tricked you.
Also..looks like that preform was going to be a nice point.
From the look of your finds..the amount..and the amount of the same material I'd say your definitely on a quarry site.
Keep an eye out for some big quarry blanks.. they look great in a display.
The couple I've been on were the same way..material blanks and preforms everywhere but hardly ever a complete point.
However... about one day's journey downstream at what would have been the camp for the night there is probably a sea of flakes and some nice points and Mabey even a cache or two.

I have I believe a 1/3 done beaver lake preform I want to call in sick and did they make flint banners ?

Why don't you take a close up of what looks like a couple projectile points?

Not very commonly.. I'm not sure I've ever seen one.
I suppose it would be possible to make a tie on.. definitely not drilled.

Tie on is what I was thinking but this piece doesnt seem nice enough here it is and the other point 1/4 done

Are you in Texas or the Midwest?

No middle tenn lol

Just asking because that is where those have been documented.

I'm not trying to be a downer but I think you have a nice knife/ side scraper or another preform that was utilized as a knife.

Yes I read that same article but I'm starting to suspect there was a lot of indian traffic to and from my area I'm on the western line of middle tennessee about 2 hrs from the Mississippi River

Is your pieces thickest point at the base of the wider end?
Does that end still have the stone's original cortex on it?
Is the "tip" of the blade wide and rounded to allow for a cutting surface on the very front?
Those are all in the description of the tool with none that I can find ever reported in your state.
Nice worked piece of Flint regardless.

All beautiful pieces. Awesome that you found them - truly is a treasure trove. Kat

Fits all the above except the cortex ... But I have several I think in my unlabeled piles that do idk must just b a coincidence
