ancient pottery

while snorkling on vacation i found in a crevice of rocks, tons of broken ancient potery.
i intend to buy a Tesoro Sand Shark and dig somemore in this crevice and souronding area it is near ww11 planes droped bombs is there any danger diggin under water when the thing goes beep. any advice would be helpfull I am toataly new to this sort of thing
