Went out today with one of my friends. He's pretty new to artifact hunting so he only ended up with a nice scraper.

I found the unfluted Folsom base about 10' away from the small Midland base.

The large flake tool is almost certainly Paleo.....probably Folsom culture. 20190308_122401.jpeg 20190308_171938.jpeg 20190308_172003.jpeg 20190308_172126.jpeg 20190308_172205.jpeg 20190308_155449.jpeg 20190308_155602.jpeg 20190308_155528.jpeg 20190308_155625.jpeg 20190308_155642.jpeg 20190308_155704.jpeg 20190308_171808.jpeg

Really nice finds.
Maybe it’s just the angle the image was taken of the base fragment but the cross-section looks fairly thick for a Midland.
Is there any chance that might be the stem of a point from the Cody complex?

Thanks man! It is a little thick through the midsection but it's flaked just like a Midland, with that microflaking. I've never seen any Cody come from this spot but a number of Folsom and Midlands though. I know what your saying though.....kind of looks like an Eden stem.

Nice! Surprised you aren’t covered with snow like us.
We have snow everywhere....but we also have horrendous wind at times which produced a few small areas to hunt today. I think I'm going to have to wait until most of it melts to do more hunting though.

We'll just have to wait until you find the rest of it, then we'll know. :)

Beautiful finds. The difference in both sides of that Scraper is amazing in the patina change. I have a few Knife River pieces like that.

Here are some pictures of the spurred scraper and side-notched point from yesterday. 20190309_154657.jpeg 20190309_154715.jpeg 20190309_160025.jpeg 20190309_154730.jpeg 20190309_154746.jpeg
