I think it's a scrapper. Any opinions?

That would be my guess. Maybe even a little spokeshave going on too!

Cool. I googled spokeshave, interesting tool, that one I don't have. What characteristic of the rock would classify it as such. Thanks

Sorry I do not see a spokeshave. This could be a scraper, but I do not see secondary flaking. (pressure flaking) This looks like a pre-form (bi-face) that with the stacking from percussion flaking, was discarded for the lack of ability to be thinned. JMO

DSC09460.webpI took another photo, not doubting you, I'm trying to get a handle on secondary flaking,Deos this section show signs of secondary flaking? Thanks

first pic bottom left. The curved area is what I was thinking.

Yeah it looks like a scraper. Not all scrapers were made flaked to a sharp edge some were thick. In that last pick you posted it shows work on the edges. Try soaking that one in water over night and then post a good pick of it wet. The colors should really pop and the work will show more. That one is a keeper you are getting in a better spot now. I look forward to seeing you find a good one here soon.
