I got back on the field that I have been hitting these past couple weeks. This is the field where I found the Woods Hibernia half penny. I only had an hour so I worked an area which we hadn't touched. It was pretty quiet but about the time I was leaving (always happens that way it seems) I hit on this George III copper at 6 inches. Bad luck on condition but easy to identify. I will be back there for a couple more hunts yet...also got a line on another property today but the owner wasn't home...I'll try again next week.

Looks good to me Romeo. Any coppa that you can ID is a good coppa. Great find.

Excellent! I'd take that find and call it a great hunt.

Any copper is a good copper ;D It seems as if more GII's are found than GIII's. Do you notice that?

Your question made me take account of mine, here are my stats:

William III coppers 15%
King George I coppers 10%
King George II coppers 33%
King George III coppers 42%

Statistics will vary from person to person I am sure.

Never found a W & M? I can't get over one either. That, or the ones I've found are destroyed.

Any old copper you can identify is a sweet find regardless of the shape its in...Congrats!! ;D
I REALLY do wish the ground was kinder to copper... >:(

Iron Patch, one or two william and mary in the william III stats............

Those old coppers are bitter sweet. Sweet to find but bitter on condition. :P Still a cool find.
Maybe Vicky is next! Good luck.
