I dont think they will find treasure but it would be nice if they answered some of the legends questions.

I do not understsnd all these massive posts about why the knights templer legend was created by the poster as a joke.

Are you claiming to be the original source of thar legend treasminder2. If not what is the actual point you are trying to make. That you told lies and someone else believed you.

I honestly think he thinks he is the source of that legend. That's a bit much even for me. As to the idea that the Templars may have been here, or someone associated with them, or a group that had morphed from the Templars, it is there in the exploration annals. Knights of Christ anyone? I'm not linking this all with Oak Island, but I do take exception to outright dismissal of groups and ideas because someone seems to think he was the first to stumble upon them. That in itself is ridiculous.

I watch the show Tuesday night, and this show may end up as a big joke on all who watch it.

Think about it. If the show ends this year and the brothers pack up and never come back, some of the people on here given the chance would jump at the opportunity to give the search a go themselves... So there are probably 100's of people out there that would as well. It's the cost of buying the rights that will keep almost all others from getting that chance. The Laginas reportedly spent 7 million dollars just to have the right to do anything on the island..

Yet in 2007 the Laginas throw down 13 million to ignore the whole string of facts Petter found, and then continue under more aggressive commercial interests there, even after putting Petter on the show.....

$13M! No wonder they can afford bleeding edge excavation tech.

For that, you could implement a customized GPR that actually works and scan the island down to the water level instead of playing pot-holer like a bunch of glorified utility finder grunts.

I'm like Fox Mulder on this stuff, but the shows never come through - wonder what ratings would be if even a little good loot was recovered? (random coins and trinkets don't count)

The History Channel’s “Curse of Oak Island” led the cable ratings this Tuesday night, managing to hold steady with a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 for the second week in a row. On OWN, “The Haves and the Have Nots” returned near the top of the ratings with a 0.9 as well, fairly in line with the show’s previous numbers.
USA’s weekly broadcast of “WWE Smackdown” continued to perform well for the network also, grabbing a 0.9, while “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath” maintained its 0.6 yet again, though it did drop slightly from 1.66 million viewers to 1.51 this week.

The ratings aside , the History channel has had a reputation of actually being a channel about history ... in fact it is not in many instances and many of the more popular programs show this to be the case. The show will run its course in due time after viewers, such as many responding to this thread (and me) will soon tire of the constant teases and the growing stupidly of the plot and that the usual History channel 5 minute recap after each commercial all grow tedious. Then the buffoon brothers will show up next chasing Blackbeard's Treasure or something and hook up with Scott Walter( a " forensic geologist" .. Whatever the hell that is) for another ridiculous program.

The History Channel’s “Curse of Oak Island” led the cable ratings this Tuesday night, managing to hold steady with a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 for the second week in a row. On OWN, “The Haves and the Have Nots” returned near the top of the ratings with a 0.9 as well, fairly in line with the show’s previous numbers.
USA’s weekly broadcast of “WWE Smackdown” continued to perform well for the network also, grabbing a 0.9, while “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath” maintained its 0.6 yet again, though it did drop slightly from 1.66 million viewers to 1.51 this week.

I mostly like seeing the rusty junk and random things they pull out, sure fills the void when you're not out detecting or watching people on youtube gnomesayin.

Advertising dollars from the show pay the bulk. However as the ratings continue to slide we'll see just how much more money the brothers are willing to throw away...

UH NO THEY DONT.....

The part of the OI Enterprise sold to Laginas was 13 million for their "Share" of the owned properties including the Money Pit.....at the time that did not include Nolan's Cross areas or other parts of the Island.....

Mineral Rights are owned by numerous companies there in the area.....which grants rights to dig on the island....within the allotted areas for minerals and other deposits

The History Channel as a company only pays for:

1)Film Production Costs to film the segments, and

2)An agreed per show fee to the Laginas and crew, with guests doing it for "Free"....

But the Laginas have to pay for all the machinery and other labor to get it working for the camera....that's their part of the show agreement......the meat of the productions is out of Lagina's Pockets......

So far in the first 3 seasons, we have seen them make a recap of the "History" of the Island, and feebly attack the puzzle from the "War Room" until they claimed they hit the "Bottom of the Money Pit", conveniently when they ran out of money.....

Now they received a $1.25Mill grant from the Canadian Govt to continue with "Film Costs" and to produce "High Quality" programming for the sake of Tourism?

What happened to their contract with History and Prometheus?

What "Film Costs" would they need to pay for now....?

Well they seem to be lying to the Govt again......Offering a trade in hopes of Tourism, in return for the Canadian people paying for the machinery to be brought in......

This is the biggest Thievery Corporation on TV today.

Now they are asking the Govt to cover their filming costs?

CMON This is theft and embezzlement.......none of this show is based on Canadian-owned film companies working for Canadian History, and neither is anything around the Island stimulating Tourism, its making Canada look like they are throwing out money to pay for the private enterprise of Oak Island, i.e. the Laginas.....Americans who are even now trying to talk like they are from Canada....

Eh Hoser?

Especially if they are shutting it all out to Local visitors while the machinery is there....and the damage of another clear-cutting and clearing of topsoil doesnt make it any more mystical......

This is a snatch of funds under false intentions and pretenses....

I'm personally enjoying the show. I look forward to it each week. This is probably the best chance for someone to finally find out if there's anything to this mystery. This group seems to have the resources and knowledge to hopefully get to the bottom of things.
My understanding is this is private property. No access to the public, although they seem to give formal tours certain times of the year.
