I found another arrowhead at work today. It was at a house in downtown winchester that ive been mowing for several years. Its about an inch long and 3/4 of an inch wide. Any help on the type would be great, thanks for looking and HH.

Thanks i cant believe i have found two arrowheads in two weeks. I guess ive never looked for them before. Since ive found the first one im picking up ever arrowhead shaped rock seeing if its an arrowhead.

Hey flyinryan2, You may have a "Kirk Corner Notched" point, early to middle Archaic period, 9,000-6,000 BP. You might research it further. A related type of point is known as a "Hardin," also from the same time in history. Best of luck, I really enjoy finding Native American points and artifacts also.

Wow. Thanks for the info. Ive found these by luck, but where is a good place to look for arrowheads.

Plowed fields, especially after a rain as it washes the dust off of the points to expose them to sunlight...easier to spot. Creek beds, near cave sites, along lake shores are all great places too. I have learned that an elevated area near the convergence of two creeks or rivers is a good spot, as ancient folks liked to camp in those areas. Best of luck! Sub

Hey thanks. I'll have to leave the metal detector home one day and just go out looking for points!
