I don't know what the Wolf Cub slides are made of today but that looks to be brass. I saw some pictures from the late 60's with what appears to be the same slide. The thing is that The Cub Scouts have been formally in the US since the 1930's, albeit in the early years they used a variety of ways to secure their neckerchief. If the modern slide is still brass then I'd guess the date range at a wide range of approximately 1950-60's (possibly earlier) up to the present. With how these were just mass produced, I don't see any way of knowing an exact age. Wish I could help more with a date.

We had neckerchief slides in the 40's. I remember being in my uniform and doing things for the War effort, and also helping the March of Dimes fighting polio.

It is a neckerchief band used by the cub scouts for someone who has reached the level of "wolf"

Yep, I had one of these too, when I was in the Cub Scouts in the mid to late 60s. I remember mine being somewhat rigid, but pliable enough that it would not break, no matter how many times I bent the tines back and forth.
