Minelab Sov. Elite 5", 8" & 10" coils. EXP II 8" & 10" coils with inline Sunray pin pointer. AT Pro 8" & 10" Coils, Equinox 600 10" and 5" coils.
Looks kinda like some kind of puller tool.
One that grabs from the inside, But the handle doesn't workable ??? ???

It looks to be designed to pull through something and then clip in place on the forked end....I like MJ's idea...retaining clip.

I seen one of those before and if I remember correctly its part of a piano.I beleive its part of the loud and soft pedals .

A feather from a wedge and feather set. You drove the feather into something with a wedge to split whatever it was you wanted to split.

Actually...taking a better look it seem too thin to be a feather. But I think if you pushed the two ends together, then pushed the whole thing into a hole of some kind the two ends would re expand. They are grooved to fit something.

It looks like a puller of some type. I've seen pullers for the old style engine lifters that are very similar to this. It's a bit long for that application. Size would determine what it was used to lift or pull. As a mechanic I could eventually come up with some uses for a tool like that. How about lifting a spring up out of a small cylinder or pipe? You could drop the spring down the pipe but would have to have some sort or retrieval tool to get it out.
