.....this is the only one we've come across like this...guess it's the bottom part? The painting is on the outside so must have been a bowl/jar thing....ever seen one like that? Or....maybe it's just a very odd break? :dontknow:

....thanks guys for looking...I don't really know if they made "plates" back then with painting on the "outside"...will have to look it up. All of the bowls & "pieces" we've found were rounded on the bottom, not like this one....could it be the top or where a handle use to be....thinking out loud here...sorry....:)
