1 7/8 by 1 3/8 Stewart County Georgia field find. Too be honest I don't remember if I have posted this here before. Any thoughts on type? The base is slightly ground if that makes any sense. 20210118_010001.webp

I don't know what it is and don't find them in my neighborhood but I absolutely love it.

Venturing with opinions from far up the eastern coast.
Very interesting artifact. Great observations all around too! Might I suggest an exhausted Dalton varient.
There is (as it appears in the photos), an indication from the color and shine, a more recent bottom circular notch or chip (pics 1&3) that created a Haw River look. And I don’t see a turned-in base.
But my eye is drawn to those parallel sides at the base.
It appears to have been worked down to a nub. The beveling is quite interesting. But, grinding on the the sides of the base would be noteworthy, if it’s there.

Thanks MA, that spot you were talking about was part of it that was exposed when I found it, I think it could've been damaged by farming equipment, hard to tell though. There's slight grinding to the sides of the base. Thanks for your interest.
