Welcome to Tnet. What is it made of? Tony

It is stone. Very heavy stone. I found it along a river trail in Washington along the Klickitat River. It was partly buried which is why the color difference on top.

I think kingskid 1611 nailed it. As lice were a common problem in ancient times, head scratchers were needed to provide relief from the vermin. This one looks durable enough to have stood up under constant use.
