the dragon has the chinese character 王 (wang) which means emperor or king. the emperor is from the Qing dynasty (by the design of the dragon on his clothing) it is difficult to date without an artist stamp or signature. I'm guessing the back of them don't have any markings or stamps.

from the results I've found just online I've seen new ones going for 200-1000 US dollars. but not sure of how much antique ones go for. I'll post the photos on my qq and see if any of my friends can help with identification.

Most of the people I've talked to think the emperor is qianlong (25 September 1711 – 7 February 1799) 乾隆帝 and the empress xiaoxianchun (28 March 1712 – 8 April 1748). However the emperor looks older than 37/38 in the artwork which was the age he was when xiaoxianchun died. So the empress could be Ulanara, the Step Empress (the second one). One thing is for sure, the empress in the artwork does not look at all like his third empress (Empress Xiaoyichun)

Those were really popular in the 1950s & 60s as were the panels with soapstone carvings. I think yours are mid-20th Century and the frame look mahogany or possibly teak.

Don't know how I missed this thread. They are a pair of Chinese ancestor portrait plaques. I haven't looked close enough yet to determine age. But by the number of claws on the dragon is four (Mang) which is the common symbol for a Chinese dragon. An Imperial dragon (Lung) would have 5. That would rule out the piece is Imperial. Though your plaques can still have value dependent when they were made.

I'm always on the look out for a five claw dragon on porcelain.
