My Brother found this in a box the other day. Odd that someone would stamp 1960 & 1980 on a 1984P then gold tone it.

I've seen a couple like this, counter-stamped the same way with gold plating. One has 1960 and 1980 the other is 1960 and 1985.

I've found a few like that. It's pretty much just a commemorative gimmick priced @ $5.99. You might be able to get a couple bucks for it on feebay, but honestly it's just worth 50¢.

The 1960 denotes the year that Kennedy got elected; the 1980 is supposed to represent the 20 year anniversary, 1985 is the 25 year anniversary.

I've heard of them but never saw one, I would throw it in a jar with oddities, after all you're getting it for face value. My jar of oddities consists of anything obviously odd which would be errors, plated coins, clipped coins, really worn coins that i cannot make out, and such that I get in coin rolls, especially foreign, my foreign jar is getting quite full...

I've found several of those in the last few years, into the dump bag they go.
