Are you kidding me!? Wild West Spanish silver!!!?

very cool finds, guys!
and me, being born in Salt Lake City, I find this one very meaningful!
many thanks!
....now, I gotta find that (Spanish) silver, too....! (envious)

Wow! Great finds, great hunt. You guys knocked it out of the park.

Awesome hunt! Gratz!

Thanks guys!

Those are very nice dimes.

The dimes were however mas produced by the government and can be found in any town square in New England. The good stuff is the artifacts and story that go with an early military expedition in the West. The bullets and the buttons are the real history.

I'm not telling you how to hunt, but it makes me sad when out of towners hoover up our old sites and all of the artifacts while looking for old coins. The coins are the gravy, but not the meat.

your going to have to get a quality machine, spend untold hours mastering it.get out there and get it first or expect the hoovering to continue.ya gotta earn it bro.

I'm pretty sure those old sites have been there for a long time waiting for you.

Man you guys always find killer stuff! And you have a blast doing it and are obviously passionate about the history. Congrats, can't wait for the next video!

Hello Dr. Tones,

Great video and finds at the Utah site, congratulations!

Best Regards,

Doc

The Relics tell a great Story IMHO.

Great Finds

:occasion14:Great vid, Great finds! Congrats!!!

Great finds for everyone. Love your videos Dr Tones. I always look forward to your videos.

Outstanding digs!!! Love the segment with the beer drinking, reflecting on the days hunt....keeping it reale...

nice silvers! You rocked the seated silvers, and the Spanish silver is a nice treat. Some pioneer in the 1840s or 1850s was probably upset that coin disappeared.

Wow Tones, that's simply amazing! I understand the rush of finding something that predates the settlement of an area. A couple years ago I found an 1838 seated Liberty dime on an old trail here in Saskatchewan. My town was founded in 1903, and there was virtually no activity (other than First Nations people) before 1874. My mind was blown to say the least.

Another successful hunt from Dr.Tones and gang. Nice vid too.

Thanks guys! I LOVE Me some relics! I guess I just kinda like to find coins a little bit more though. Where we hunt (north west) literally every site has relics (depends on your definition of relics) The old coins however are few and far. While its true, old coins might've been everywhere out east, it's simply not the case here in Idaho. It's become kinda like a competition that I have with myself... Find the oldest coin possible in a given area, find different varieties, gold, silver, copper etc. I do hunt sites frequently for relics though. Like I said, here, relics are easy pickins.

Sorry that's a vivid exaggeration--those here that find old coins work hard for them just as hard as you do and good relics here are not "easy pickins." Ur laying it on a bit thick aren't you "doctor?"

Spanish silver circulated with American silver easily up to the CW years, Idaho was an official US "Territory" in 1863 and was obviously occupied by white men who carried Spanish silver, US silver, and silver from any other country perhaps 50 or more years before that.

Please could you post pictures on here, as I rarely bother with videos & all you achieve appears to be promoting you tube & not Tnet?
