Artifact or rock?

Hello everyone. Found this in a creek bed outside of Athens GA. Lots of rocks and quartz around but this piece is shaped much different than the other things out there. Are these edges natural? I thought (hoped) it may a worn down tool of some kind but i can not tell for sure. It is 2-2.5 inches H by 3.5 inches W in as shown pictures 2 and 3 here. Thanks for looking! From the pictures it appears to be a natural rock. They come in all shapes

Agree, it's a natural occurring rock. I don't see any indication of being worked by native Americans.

Personally I see no signs of being worked or shaped on purpose. I found so many square and rectangle shapped rocks of all sizes hunting artifacts they would fill a dump truck.

Probably just a rock. You're on the right track, every single one of us would have picked it up and looked that over. Keep checking that area. Also, check out the banks along the creek.

Why is there a rusty patina everywhere but on one face? That’s seems unusual.

The clean side laid in the mud for many years and the rust looking side was up getting stain from the water.
