🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Worked item or natural?

Hello everyone. Found this in a creek bed outside of Athens GA. Lots of rocks and quartz around but this piece is shaped much different than the other things out there. Are these edges natural? I thought (hoped) it may a worn down tool of some kind but i can not tell for sure. It is 2-2.5 inches H by 3.5 inches W in as shown pictures 2 and 3 here. Thanks for looking! I’m not sure what it would be if it is an artifact. With two holes drilled it could become a gorget?? What’s interesting to me is it has a rusty patina everywhere except on one face. That side could possibly have been worked.

Could it be a man made sharpening stone?

I can't see the grain at the broken end.
If it's a consistent grain structure all around it could very well be a sharpening stone.
