I found this several years ago at our ranch in South Texas - about 30 mies north of Rio Grande City, TX. It is about 4.5" long and 3" wide. Looks to me like a tool of some kind but I can't figure out what it could be. Anyone have any ideas?

Strange looking rock for sure. Welcome to the site, rock

there are two stones there... the possible tool is in the center..the other is just sandstone.
bust it out of there and see what you have.

LOL. Blacksmithing is metal work...
Not stone age.
Kidding right?

I think I see what seceretcanyon is getting at. Are you saying the anvil used in metal working is a derivative of such a stone as posted above? Could be.??

Fred Flinston sit and spin? A childs toy, a top? A boat anchor? A punch or part of a press? A stone age Lawn Dart? A fertility God figure? Spanish Braile for Mine? A 5 pound rock hammer? I have a idea, but you wouldn,t believe me.

Any chance this is just a natural formed rock?
