well went back to the house where I found the 5 wheats yesterday, and I was at 996 coins for the year, I found 3 modern pennies taking me to 999 coins for the year, and I said "God give me something cool for coin number 1000"

well I guess he heard me because the next coin I found was a 1903 Barber quarter, I was doing the happy dance all over the backyard. I am REAL glad they had a privacy fence....lol

I got a video and hopefully can get it up by tommorow, you will be able to tell how excited I was, I was pretty pumped up and still am right now.

after that I found something that I have no clue what it is, it says on it rotary international, I got it on the video as well as pics, any info??

That's a great story and a nice find. (well better than nice, I would be screaming!) I am about 30 coins away from 1000 since I started this great hobby at the end of 03/08. Got a nice gold/ruby ring last week, but the silver has still eluded me. I'm going to say that same prayer when I get to 999 (hopefully later on today)

Almost forgot....I'm using an Ace also and would like to know the details of the find. How deep? What did it ring up at, solid signal ? What sensitivity setting were you running?

it hit solid on quarter, and did not move, it was entangled in a mess of roots, and I think it might have saved it from goin any deeper, it was at 6 inches. Most things in this guys yard were sunk pretty good. I dug several modern coins there at 4-5 inch range.

I believe that Rotary thingy is a nameplate, where you would have your "hi, my name is ...". found something similar pertaining to a gas station, still had the paper with the persons name on it. Great finds!

Awesome find! Congrats on the 1000 mark!! I'm still trying to get to 10...lol, to date, I've found one penny (clad)...but I'm just getting started, new detector will be here sometime today...then LOOK OUT!!

That's an awesome 1000th coin to find. Funny how that happens. I remember last year needing 9 silver coins to get to 300 silver for the year, and wouldn't you know it, I managed to find 9 in one day!!

Yes, let's see the video!
Major Congrats!!

I have tried to upload the video like 6 times on youtube and it sits there forever and then finally says "page cannot be displayed" I am getting mad....lol

have to leave for work in a bit, so I will try again tommorow! sorry for the wait

IF that quarter is #1000 then #2000 is sure to be a Barber half ;D

WTG, that's a nice one!
