Awesome! My first Halves Hunt!! PICS

Went to dump nickels today at a bank and saw that they had some halves when they went to replace the bag on the coin counter so I talked to the manager and asked if I could buy all the halves off of them. He said sure they'd be happy to and it would save them from having to send them off to Brinks.

They had $194.50 worth in halves from the coin counter.
Here's my finds! 5 x 90% and 6 x 40%

4 x 1964-D
1 x 1965
1 x 1967
4 x 1968-D

2000-S Silver Proof

I'm really psyched, I haven't hunted halves yet because I didn't feel like ordering any but now I'm hooked on halves I'll have to start hunting them full time!

Also, found a handful of foreign coins, a squashed penny and a good luck token.

First pic is of the 1964s, second is of the 2000-S proof and 3rd is of the 40% Kennedy's. HH to all!

Nice begining.

Double check the 2000s as many new peeps confuse the newer proofs as being silver when most are not.

I wouls suggest the same, because I have found quite a few S-cameo proof halves, but none have been silver. I am interested in knowing if it really is silver though, and if so, are they 40% or 90%?

Hey guys, sorry it's been awhile, just got done with my shift at the ER.

The 2000-S feels, tastes, smells, looks, and sounds like silver. I got a 90% 2000-S from my uncle a couple of months back but it was damaged from a fire. I'm really happy to finally get one that looks decent.

I'm going to work tomorrow up at a medical lab at Texas A&M, I'll get a chance to weigh it on the milligram scales and make sure it's 90% silver but I'm almost positive it's going to come out at 12.5 grams exactly, the rim looks exactly like that of a brand new ASE, no glint of copper here.

I've heard that proofs were made in both 40% and 90% silver, I've got a 1995-S, 1997-S, and a 2000-S that I know are all 90%.
