Hello all you AZ members of Treasure Net.

Here is a thread designed for one thing... Checking in and getting out with fellow AZ members. I see that there are a few AZ members who have gotten together and had some fun prospecting. I am kinda jealous. I, and hopefully other members from AZ also, would like to get to know our peers in person. See who like to shovel, and who like to watch shoveling happen... J/K.

I see some members are passing through the area I live in and I would love to get involved.

I will start it off. I live in Glendale, and don't have a truck. ( I have a company truck, but that is a big no-no) I have a drywasher, and a MD. I have my daughter every other weekend, and have the FEVER. I have a membership with Roadrunners. We have claims at Rich Hill, near Vulture Mine, and near Old Woman Gulch outside of Morristown. Anybody wants to set up a day of digging, let me know. I will be waiting at the end of the drive with too much equipment....

It looks to me like the club did a lot of claim housekeeping. The BLM required Proof of Discovery on their larger claims, so they let them expire by not paying the maintenance fees for 2015. Then immediately filled several smaller claims over the same ground on September 3. Four 20 acre claims instead of one 80 acre claim and so forth. I am still researching out there and a couple of other places. While on the subject of claims Clay, what is the deal with placer and lode claims filed on the same ground by different claimants? thanks Never mind, I found this link and the info I was looking for: http://www.nuggetshooter.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=22620

What claims up in that area do the best? I have been to the gpaa claims up these a couple times and didn't have much luck...

There is some gold to be found on the GPAA claims near Morristown but I think the better GPAA claims are up north. Some claims have been closed or removed from the GPAA program so be sure your claims info is up to date.

How did that Black Canyon search do for you? I've been up int eh area a few times, but not done so well. YOu were on the east or west side of I-17?

A while back Kazcoro and I where West of I17, at the gpaa claim by Bumblebee.
Well, a ways from BB actually.
We where buy the one where the turn off is for the mesa to the East. Forget the name.
I had my Goldmaster, and he had his Gold bug.
We ended up with a great collection of lead and brass, that's it.
But his daughter had a blast.

We were on Roadrunner claims. I can't speak for roadrunner, but I know we all had fun. Gold=0. If there was easily found gold, we would have found it.... We found pieces of lead that you almost had to have a magnifying glass to see, so we know our random searching technique was good. Roadrunner pointed out some quartz viens that run for miles in that whole valley. Interesting, and encouraging to see that we were following in the foot steps of smarter and older men. Evidence of many exploration mines in that area.
Hey roadrunner, what is your vehicle situation like? I want to get out with my dredge this fall in a few weeks and get back into the bradshaws. I still only got a work truck and my 4 wheeler. It is a damned rough road getting back into the area I want to work. I met another guy that you would really get along with. He is a lot like me, and you as well.......Calm. Laid back, not afraid to work. Ditto on my daughter, she had a blast.

I will give you a call.
I had fun especially since it was my 4th time out with the new GM<.
Down to just the car.Truck needs engine work.
Plus coming down that dirt road I hit some washboards pretty fast and through my front end out of aline.

I know a few spots out by bumblebee that will produce but found gold in bench gravels nothing in the stream bed as of yet. All really fine gold not too chunky. Lots of mineral deposits everywhere

If you are an experienced gold prospector in the Phoenix - Prescott area, and are interested in running your own business teaching greenhorns and tourists to pan and detect for gold, please get in touch with me with a PM or email TerrySoloman@aol.com

Some of the AU from yesterday. After running a total of (5)ea 5 gal. buckets and a few test pans prior to that, this is all I sucked up from rough panning my cons from my sluice to checking to make sure I was still on the gold. I still have a half gallon or so of cons to process. I don't think I did too bad for a few hours work.

nice looking and good job on so much in a short time.
Keep looking around the area, maybe a better spot holding more than where you are at.

6 buckets today. I still have cons to go through.

Looks good. I want to see the rest and the combined photo! Hopefully you have chunkier stuff still waiting in the cons. Fairly sure there is more where that came from also

Hi guys. I'll be retiring from the army in a few months and moving into the Phoenix area. I already plan on a few trips up to Lynx Creek, and will be joining GPAA soon. I have a pan and a MD. I need to get serious about this as it will keep me from getting fat if I do it 2-3 times a week ;) I currently have an H3 Hummer, but the wife wants a truck. So, just with the H3 I'll be able to get around pretty good.

Tom.... Also thanks for the service to our country.
We lived about 15 miles north of Phoenix (Anthem/ New River area) If you move to the north valley there are many gpaa claims between New river and black canyon city off "Table Mesa Rd" exit on I-17 that i can show you how to get to....... not too much in the other areas of phoenix. But wickenburg and Morristown are great areas also for gpaa claims and a few other clubs.
There is free dispersed camping along the Lynx creek if you know where to go.

Thanks Joe. I'm really looking forward to it myself, but my wife tuned in to a forum that said there were snakes and scorpions in the area. I'll work around them, no problem. I'll do some online research on the camp sites along Lynx Creek, and I'll send you a message when I get settled in this coming summer. Mike

In the town of Prescott Valley turn left onto Walker Rd and Lynx Lake will be a few miles with paid campsites..... but go a few miles further and turn left onto a dirt rd called Bannie Mine Rd Free Camping from the top of the hill down to the bottom at the creek (my preference) Look it up in google earth.... very tall pines and much cooler in the summer in the valley.
Or click on this Link and look up all the free sites available and it will also show you the ones on Bannie Mine Rd which would be a great place to start and also keep cool in the summer.

Get in touch in the summer...you will like it here

Does Anyone know anything about Moores Gulch in New River. Is it Trust or BLM land? Has anyone found any color there?

I live very close to there and i just looked it up for you..... Yes it is on BLM Land but it shows that whole area near the Aqua Fria is under claim by a guy named Richard R (I don't want to put his full name here) and the large area before that is private land...... But the good news is if you look on google earth and the road that leads north and then turns west goes into a whole bunch of GPAA Abby claims (Abbracadabra) within a mile..... you could spend a lifetime in there and never get thru them all (i'm back there all the time)..... you don't want to cross the river at moores gulch but use the crossing about 1/4 to the left of it...... accessed via table mesa rd.
Where do you live?

There are only 6 Abacadabra (abby) claims left. There used to be more than 20. So many claims have dropped there in the last year - there are about 800 acres open to prospecting that were claimed before now. It is a huge, rough area but there are several placers now open to location.
