Well the last few hunts have been pretty dull. Been hitting some of my old sites as well as looking for new ones.

Went back to an old spot of mine & boy did Sandy destroy my way in. Trees were all strewn along the old road that I had to bushwack thru waist high ferns. By the time I made it out my legs were soaked as well as my feet.:BangHead: Also had to cross a rain swollen stream from Andrea. Once I made it to my old spot I had to take off my boots & socks to wring them dry.

No much turned up except for the flat button that I found under a tree that Sandy had uprooted as well as the pewter handle which looks to be marked "Britan". I headed back to another road so I didn't have to bush wack again & found a new cellar hole not on the maps!

Well long story short: 1776 KG III, Musket Ball, Broken Tombac Button as well as one just sitting on top of a flat stone by the lip of the hole!

Only hunted it for an hour as I was due back home. early. Definitely Headed back with renewed hopes of this being a virgin site.

HH!

Sweet Hunt Roger!Father's day is around the corner.I'll be asking my family to pack me a lunch!!!!

your hard work paid off!, way to go

THANKS IP! I always appreciate your help & knowledge! If you could explain what very scarce means as well as an appox value for it being dug, I'd appreciate it.

I think the easiest way to explain it is that it's not common, but not rare, it's somewhere in the middle but leans a little more towards rare. As far as value there is enough of these around that the dug ones don't really get much. If you google it you should have no problem finding lower grade sales. When you said 1776, and then I seen the reverse and recognized it as the Machin's Mills style, my interested was peaked because there's a couple extremely rare ones for that date... but still a 1775 MM is usually better than a 1775 Brit. copper so you did ok.
