Back to Hetzel's Church Grove today.

When I arrived, first thing I saw was the Grounds keeper on the Tractor
Mowing Grass.
So I sat for 10 Minutes doing a "Do I wanna, or Not"
I finally decided to go ahead and Started Detecting.
about 15 Minutes later I notice him Shutting the tractor down & yelling at me,
so I take off my Headphones only to hear.
"You do realize 50% of yor finds go to the Grounds Keeper" ;D
So of course I say "YEP" & Walk over.
Turns out he just moved in & Took over the Job so he knew very little of the History. Luckly I had my 1875 Atlas along & showed him where the Church & Parsanage used to be.
(In the area of his house)
Very long Conversation cut Short, He gave me Permission to Search there & even said, Don't worry about the Yellow spots. However I insisted, I will wait for Rain, Because I would feel better. anyway
I now have Twice as much land to search.
This may end up a Year Long hunt. since the first Church/School dates
to 1700's.
He also told me where the bottle Dumps are ;D

I recognize that building! I go by it on the way home everyday! I think I will start to hunt there! :)
Good Luck, Hope you can get something back to the 1700's or early 1800's That would be cool!
If I could get to that dump and if I could dig, I would dig a test hole down to see how far it dates back. Good Luck!

Thanks All.

ML the Problem is, I'm not a Dump Digger.
I like Swinging my Detector.
so Unless the Bottle Comes out While Detecting, I Don't know
that I'll ever get to the Dump itself.

Although, you just Never Know.
all total I got about 45 Acres to Swing on.
That's after subtracting about 5 Acres for the Cemetery.

and if I get Permission for that School, I'll also have the area Circled in Red added on another 86 Acres

Are you really gonna share your finds with Forrest Gump?

The 50% thing I'm sure was his way of taking a Break and Talking.
I mentioned the 2 Barber Quarters to him he obviously was happy for me, and started talking about where he lived before some of his friends used to Detect & he used to Bottle hunt.
He also told me there are Booklets in the Church with Pictures of the
old Church. he was going to go get one for me after he ws done mowing, but I left before this happend.
When I get to his side of the Road, of course, I am hopeing to get to show off the finds to him, at that point, I will ask if there are any he's intrested in, as a good will gesture.
But Honestly, I think I'd have to force it on him to take something.
I get the "Share with me" thing all the time.

It means "Have Fun, but Do you have a Minute to Talk ? "

Not a dump digger?!?!?

:::THUD:::

I just may do a little bit, at some point.
I do love old Bottles.
As I said it's hard for me to put down my Detector.

Plus health wise, I'm not real sure I could handle the change
of muscle use required to dig.
He did say someone must have done alot back there but a appears
they were Smashing alot in the process & the good ones are probably deeper.

Re: Back to Hetzel's Church Grove today.

Thanks !

It always Amazes me that someone could loose a Half Dollar,
considering the Color and Value.
50 Cents worth of goods in the 30's & 40's would probably equal $5.00
worth of goods Today.

Can't make up my mind.
Do I wanna Mow my Lawn, it is 12" High.
or go Detecting Today again.

Hum ? :-\
