Hi all, I have 2 banks I use for CRH, one bank for half dollars(no issues with them) and another bank, my dump bank/pickup bank. The bank that I dump at is TD bank. TD bank also supplies me with coin boxes when I request them as long as they have enough for their business customers. A while back, I purchased a box of brinks dime($250 box)...

The issue: I went and tossed the remaining $249.90 in a pail and dumped them at TD bank's penny arcade(I had 1 keeper, 1964d)
The machine was having all kinds of problems, belt issue and whatnot. I get my bill back and it says: $234.30 :icon_scratch: and of those 2499 dimes I dumped, the machine only counted 433 making my loss of $206.70 ???

Can't be, I had $250 in dimes alone along with about $200 in other coin, making the dump a good $450 :help:

I look over in the penny bag and they are full of pennies and DIMES!!! my DIMES!!! Spoke to the manager(I go to this bank at least once a week) and she said she could not do nothing!! Clearly I am not trying to lie and get free money, there were many dimes noticeable in the penny bag. I do not know where the remaining 2067 dimes went. But, the teller said they send the bags out to get counted, and whatever is over, they get sent back.

Hopefully I will be reimbursed, anyone else have a situation like this? I am furious to be out over $206. Please, help with advise, thanks!

This happened thursday, 7/14/11- they said this should take about a week to happen, should I get my cash back or did the bank rob me?

Re: Bad situation, suggestions?!

just got a call back from a teller asking how much I was shorted, told her $206.70, she said she would call back in 1-3 hours to let me know how much I will have put into my account(obviously they got some overage back. hh all!

The bank gave back to me the $206.70 that was missing... happy that the bank did not rob me. They gave me a call but never told me about the fact that it was deposited into my account, all in all, made out well. I am happy. hh!

dimes, never again- unless I have that urge in a few months... but that is not likely. hh!

glad it got fixed buffaloboy

Good to see that you made out well on that. I'm still out my money on the dime shortage. I'm giving the bank manager one more shot at making it right before I file civil action against the bank.
