1 week away yet monty stay tuned
 

I missed the other trips but I am off work on the 6th so I am going to do my best to get there for this one. I would really like to be a part of finding the site. There would surly be some unique finds. Anyone from the Dallas area interested in car-pooling it give me a shout. Sean?

TC, Have you done your own research on the battle?
 

I think the directions are wrong. Last time we met at the Shell/McDonalds at the intersection of 281 and 1604. I don't think the 281/410 meeting place is correct.
 

I belive others are more up on it than me, But it is a possible spot just across the River from where we'll be hunting this time.Being mostly a running Battle (except the begining of it), Im not sure anyone will truly ever pinpoint the sight, but You never know.
There would be expected alot of Grape shot from Cannon and Musket balls. I belive percusion cam around in the 1830's so it would be flintlocks, and I dont belive exploding cannon Balls were out yet.
Thier has been some History mentioned on past Threads in the Texas forum, concerning the battle with lots of links, if you look Back.
Im feeling good about this one though.

Ok that is the update from Dan. I stand corrected. It is 281 and 410. If anyone needs directions let me know since I live here.

Oh yeah, I am driving. I told my wife about it and now she has it all planned out. I will PM you and of course you are welcome to ride with us.

Ok, got the better half to release me. She is flying out of Harlingen to France on Saturday and she said since I had missed this twice that I needed to go and she insisted that I not miss it to carry her to the airport!! What a woman :notworthy: Anyways it will necessitate a early departure, about 2.30 or three from the valley, so see ya there. I will post with Southtexas metal detectors to see if any one else wants to make the journey. Chris :icon_sunny:

Just show up; Dan will have you sign an agreement/release form then join a big caravan to the search area.
