beach advice for a beginner?

I'm new to MDing but am going to beach on the 15th. Somewhere between Pawley Island, SC and Vero Beach FL, depends on weather where I stop. Just purchased an MXT PRO and would like any tips or advice you may offer.

ok help needed. I hunted today and got not even trash.
I even buried my beercan ( yes, empty) just to check if my md was working. It was.

Jeff, you have to have the coil to the ground. Not hung over your shoulder!

Seriously though try covering over a few coins and see if your detector finds them. Cans are very easy to find...even deep.
