beach advice for a beginner?

I'm new to MDing but am going to beach on the 15th. Somewhere between Pawley Island, SC and Vero Beach FL, depends on weather where I stop. Just purchased an MXT PRO and would like any tips or advice you may offer.

How come every time. I read a JG thread all seriousness goes out the window? We didn't find Jack in Destin last week ,not even enough for beer money. We searched late in the afternoon near the volleyball nets along the rows where the beach chairs were set up but the tide was really wonky. The beach accesses are good places to look where people are taking off shirts and fumbling around with their clothes where coins and jewelry might fall off.Look for shark teeth too if you're into that kind of thing and you can get a studly necklace made.BBMcCay and my mister would get along well,he's a planner,me,a nomadic type.Have a wonderful time and post lots of pictures when you get back but not of old men in speedos thankyewverymush.

Yeah they get pretty serious over there. They do on all the misselanious forums though. The light hearted ones are the better reading!
