Being paid by money order

I know, I know... eBay can do whatever they want, it's their website, blah, blah, blah. This doesn't mean we have to like it or accept it. I'll take any form of payment that inevitably gets me cash in hand, regardless of the "policy". I don't like debit/credit cards, electronic payments, I don't like banks even. However, in today's world I am forced to use these options because that's the way it is done unfortunately.
^^^^^ This. So Beachkid what have you decided ?

Well he said he sending me a money order for $388. That was on Monday so I have not received anything in the mail yet.

I can cash them at the post office? From what I understood from somebody saying on here? If that is the case then I will just drop them off and cash it there instead of depositing them into my account.

Either way, if he is a good customer and this works out well I look forward to him coming back. Selling 19 things in one shot makes me happy! Especially some of the vintage stuff that I was starting to think would never sell. And we came to the fair offer us on everything something cheaper somethings not. a little bit of silver and a lot of stuff he said he can use in his store. To be honest with you I wouldn't be surprised if he had a booth set up at like an antique mall or something because a lot of the stuff he bought was from the 50s to 80s. But on stuff like that I'm very happy to especially if it make somebody else happy!!

Yes ..
Don't hit the post office up too early Though, especially if you are in a small town.

Try to get them in the afternoon.
this way they should have plenty in the register
& not still in the safe.

Less chance of them crying poverty

Good advice.. My little Podunk post office rarely has much cash on hand. If you have to go in the afternoon to a larger city PO.

yes I had it happen to me once. with a semi Large M.O.
I tried to catch them when they opened
and they told me to stop back in the afternoon :(
since I was wanting to save gas, I instead ran by my bank and cashed it

I always take my USPS money order to the post office and ask them to check and see if it is a good money order and they always say it is good and cash it…… But were that one person had the money taken from there account was more than likely a bank or store MO...

How are you even able to accept a money order?

Accepted payments policy

According to ebay policy it is restricted to a few categories, typically vehicles and boats.

It also seems strange to me that even though ebay is essentially set up to only allow for paypal transactions that a buyer would want to go around this setup and choose to use a money order. It would certainly raise red flags with me.
I really do not care what Ebay's policy is … When some one ask's if they can pay by MO i say send it ..

I stopped buying directly from Ebay,
Since they changed their words in their policy.

Since I don't know ahead of time if they will accept a Money order &
it's a pain in the arse to ask in advance, if they will accept a M.O. I just didn't bother with EBay.

another thing that ended it, They recently updated profiles or something ?
told me I had to Reapply ? I guess they want more details now ? SS# phone # ? :dontknow:
Don't know.....
I thought screw them !
back when I first applied they were pretty new yet.
I didn't need to give them my Life story.

Money order scam is they buy a money order color copy a copy send it out cash the original and when you deposit it to your bank comes back as forged ect. It works becouse it is the original money order. I had some that were a little short of the original money order size is how I could tell they were fake. If you call them they verify that it is a verified money order becouse it was bought at one time. So I do not take money orders anymore.
