Found my first box of the year that has Bens on the ends. It took great restraint to not crack them open until I got them scanned. I looked at both ends and these are the only end finds. Does anyone know the formula to figure the potential yield of the box? This might be a great box if the Kennedy's are 90%.

March is starting off pretty good.

one unscientific rule of thumb i have found is for everyone you find on the end there is 10 more in the box. (keepers that is) not necessarily bens

That math would almost be right on the money. 10% of the coins are on the ends, so mathematically speaking, there should be 9 more in the box for every 1 that is on end.

Good luck!

Two Bens is definitely a good sign. I had a dream box once that had over 100 90% and was filled with Walkers and Bens, that box had a bunch of Bens and Walkers on the ends. One roll even had a Ben on one side and a Walker on the other. I wish I'd taken a picture of it but didn't have the patience...I'm guessing 32 keepers with 24 Bens and Walkers :icon_thumleft: The usual formula is 10 keepers per end coin. Doesn't always work. Today I had one box with no end coins but had 20 keepers and another box with one end coin and only 2 keepers. That box was almost completely full of 1978 AU coins.

Here is the count: I did a quick scan of dates no key dates. Also, found another roll that had an end piece but I could not tell for the scan. Only 8 of the rolls were skunks.

48 - 40%
11 - 1964
18 - Bens
2 - Walkers

2 - 1981S
2 - 1989S
1 - 1995S
3 - 1996S

Sweet haul!!!! :icon_thumleft:

Fantastic score  .
When I see silver showing which is not uncommon, the only thing I expect is that it will not be a skunk box.

Ha da box awhile back opened had a 63 ben staring at me I was pumped rest of box was skunkaroo

I can't wait to get my next weeks boxes after seeing this!!!! Good for you!!! :tongue3: :tongue3: :tongue3:

Congrats Rich, I have yet to get a box like that ever. My two boxes this week yielded:

Box 1: Skunk
Box 2: 1 90% Kennedy
10 40 % Kennedy

And I thought that was good since I didn't get much last week. I thought of quitting but your boxes encourages me to push through.

I've found no good rule of thumb on enders except that when you see a slew of them like near a half box full of them you gots a good one; have found single enders before & that was all was in Box too or recently 3 enders & only 6 in entire Box.

Congrats, great box! Nice variety of keepers too, bet you're looking forward to your next boxes from that source.

Amazing dream box! :hello2:

It is always great feeling to see silver on the end of the roll.

Started off better than mine for sure. I put in an order at my old bank with the head teller. She said no problem I will order them. I asked if she needed me to call and remind her. She said no, no problem. Well you can imagine how it turned out. No boxes ordered and she was soooooo suprised I was standing there in front of her. She tried to blame someone else then offered to order me double. I said no thanks just the boxes I originally wanted will suffice. She said you should have called me. And I had to remind her that I had offered that and she said it was not necessary. Oh well, I learned my lesson.

Another road trip planned for the upcoming week.
