Berry Picking in the Mountains

Grandkids picking berries on Grandma and Grandpa's farm in the mountains. The berries at lower altitudes are already gone. Got enough to make a few jars of blackberry jam!!

Wow! Used to be blackberry plants all over my farm, but in clearing the yard for snake barriers, all those blackberry plants were eradicated - I didn't do it

Now I have to get them going again!

I know what you mean gollum, the cobbler is great also but we still have a bunch of peaches available so we will have peach cobbler. We had some peach cobbler w/ice cream the day we picked the berries.
Tamrock, if we can't get it from our garden down here, this mountain farm has it. Everything from free range chicken eggs which sell for $5 per dozen at the farmer's market to various kinds of apples, cabbage, onions, radishes, broccoli, and just about any other veggie you can think of. They have wild blackberries and then they have some thorn-less berries as well. I had the kids picking in the thorns 'cause I prefer the wild ones although I can't tell the difference in taste.

They are family so we have free access but they usually sell at the market a few days per week all summer. We have shared stuff from our garden for them to sell because ours will ripen a month or so before theirs do.
