Good post, brother. Told you it was a nice coin! ;)

The banner is a goofy little 'system' that allows members to nominate a post for a spot on the banner which would place your find among the scrolling pictures of finds at the top of each page. Nothing you can do to get a find on the banner other than vote for it. Sometimes a post is up for a day with very little replies and POOF, it's on the banner. Other finds seem miraculous and have pages of hits, but may not even make it on the banner even if 10 people indicated they voted banner in the replies. In my short experience here, this is a fantastic forum, but don't spend any time worrying about the banner because the banner crew do what the banner crew do, and more often than not, it's a very sensitive subject the moment a question arises.

and also, as a new poster you have no chance until you become established at the forum with 100-200 posts under your belt. That much is in the rules.

Thank you guys for all the compliments and Brad u have been nothing but help brother and I thank you greatly. It's so funny bc I owe finding this spot entirely to a 8yo that actually plays outside like all of us used to before all these damn video games lol so I'm thinking about taking it to the jewelry store and getting it turned into a necklace or something for him to keep.
Oh and p.s. I talked to Kurt and he said just tell him when this got him fired up and ready to roll haha

Awesome dude. Keep the coin until he is a little older. Or find him a mercury dime or something. Honestly, that coin you found is really special and you may want to keep it and remember it as your first amazing find. But you're a giver, so do what makes you happiest. Can't wait to dig with you.

HELLUVA FIND NEW MEMBER ....

Definitely not obverse 7, the date is below the plow beam on that obverse. Check out 15-T, beautiful for a dug coin!
I'm going with the 15-T also. Nice ID Cutler. Don will pipe in shortly I imagine. What a GREAT looking Jersey. Congrats.

I checked out all the varieties and I agree it looks like a Maris 15-t

That is in crazy good condition. They just don't ever come out of the ground like that. I am voting banner just for the condition of that state copper. Nice dig!

Well, it's all downhill from here :laughing7:

Great find!!!

It sure is I'm counting the time till I can get off work next to shoot back on in there and actually hunt the site that was the first swing lol
