Went to a cornfield today that has given up a few coppers in the past. It's a fairly small field, as far as fields go, but it's an old field and if you put your time in there's a chance of making some good finds. Spent about four hours there and got a button, LC, a nice 2 Reales, and a coin I need your help to ID. It's the size of a nickle, and real thin. It has a bust facing right with some lettering. The back is worn smooth. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking. 001.webp002.webp003.webp

That stuff looks really, REALLY old. Great finds, Congrats and HH!

The coin you described sounds like a farthing. A good close up pic would help. Awesome finds!:occasion14:

A good day.

Thinking French Liard.

This is the best I could do for a closeup. I think Iron Patch might have IDed it though. I can see an OY at eleven o'clock. If it is a French Liard, it will be another first for me.

Yep, I'm quite convinced now.

Thanks for the ID Iron Patch. :icon_thumleft:

Fairly easy one given how often I've seen these over the years. (found several too)

A mid. 1600s coin find in MA I think means you are on the right track.

That's a great deuce!
