I was out foraging the other day and went to one bank I had never been to before. All the tellers were LOVELY to deal with. They referred me to the one lady who had all the halves and Ikes and she was more than happy to give them to me. She had to go to the vault to get $90 in loose halves. She comes out with the bag and says thank you so much for taking these off of our hands, there's even a half dozen or so silver ones in there.
I played dumb, and she said she hates halves so much she doesn't care about keeping the silver ones.
The bag yielded 8 40%ers
Also ended up with about 47 Ikes, half of which were gold plated. (are those worth anything?)
I love nice tellers.
Once again, moral of the story, be nice to the tellers and they will take care of you.
