That place out their where your at , Do you hide gold the day before( salted) then let people hunt it , charging them a high rate & act like they really found it?

You're kidding right? Is this your way of sticking your tongue out at me and saying, "Your Mother wears Army boots!", before running away with your tail between your legs? You and CZ did me - and Tesoro - a HUGE favor pal. You have shown yourselves for what you are. Rival dealers or sponsors with little to no class, and not enough faith in your own products to let them stand on their own merits. Nice job!

I don't understand this statement and it would help if you used punctuation to make your statements clearer. I have never talked to you, only answered posts. What "bad advice" did I give on a metal detector? I give advice if it is asked based on my experience with many detectors. People can take my opinions or leave them. :coffee2:

Re: Big run of used tesoro's on ebay

Excuse me, sir,

But, I am not "picking and choosing" - I am confused by your story, and was trying to get it straight.

You have given an example of a dissatisfied customer, not the one you are talking about, and you said you would show proof of the one you ARE talking about - so, I asked the questions.

I can, however, give you a reason to send it back and pay the postage - first, if you are a business, you can write it off your taxes and not lose a dime, and 2 - they would send it back to you with a new box and the paperwork, and you would have a happy customer somewhere. Just seems like good business.

Since I have had Tesoro's for over 20 years - I've had my share of returns, including having our dog chew the wire right off at the coil, a broken wire inside the box after it slid off the truck that I set it on, and one that entered the water way deeper than it should have gone. (salt water is not good for the box :icon_scratch:).

On all occasions, they fixed it like new - plus, when we got it back, we got an "I'm sorry" gift - once a gold pan, once an extra bag, and once a tesoro apron. And one of the detectors was bought used. (used and not lovingly abused) and never had a box or a warranty card.

The "rush to judgement" that is occurring is based on the fact that Tesoro is infamous for their service, and, a total amazement that one person should have, not one, but more than one, dissatisfied customers buying your Tesoro detectors. (including one that says it looks like it was tampered with).

It's probably best, for you, that you no longer are a Tesoro dealer - dealers shouldn't sell products they don't believe in.

This thread is retarded!

Re: Big run of used tesoro's on ebay

ok ,i see what your saying but , i would of had close to a total $30.00 on just this unit just on shipping. Tesoro should have never shipped it to me in this condition. Right
On the other units that i had complains from the customers. These units were shipped to them just like i received them in a seal box straight from tesoro
it cost me around $125.00 to make these customers happy. Dealer are in the business of making money not loosing it. Their isnt a big mark up on metal detector anyways.
But would you buy a detector in a box that looks like junk with no warranty card or manual and the dealer tell you its new? No, i wouldnt either
thats why i still have it . I would not sell it to anyone in this condition. Maybe tesoro was selling me seconds? Now thats a interesting thought

Retarded is a good word to be used as an example of other things pertaining to this thread too!

Back On Topic

I think quite a few people try the Tesoros and find that they want the bells and whistles of other brands. Or some may have baught the wrong model and just gave up on Tesoros in general. I always wanted the Cibola, but when I got one I found that I missed the multi-tones of my old Classic 3. Now, had I bought a Cortez things might have been different and I wouldn't be looking at high end Minelabs right now.

Re: Big run of used tesoro's on ebay

Yeah, this thread is retarded. The original post was retarded. Now this thread is being posted on the other forums. I think it's a good thing.

There are a lot of folks - like me, that have opinions. Turns out EVERYBODY has them. Color me surprised! :laughing7: The problem is purposeful and strategic attacks on one BRAND or another, by individuals, dealers, distributors and their surrogates (i.e. sponsored forums). That isn’t kosher in my book, and needs exposing whenever it is encountered.

I have followed threads in the past, where a dealer posed as the buyer and user of brand X, because he wanted to plant negative remarks and false info on that machine - a direct competitor of brand W, which he was authorized to carry and was ready to make a bundle on! Newbies ready to drop hundreds have no clue they are being swayed. Always follow the money..

Re: Big run of used tesoro's on ebay

This thread is too good. This guy has got to be pulling our leg. :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

But if there was a banner for atrocious grammar, he'd win hands down! :read2:

And Sandman, I'll take your "bad advice" any day of the week. :notworthy:

And Terry, you just go ahead and have a ball with this. You've earned it! :icon_thumleft:

Re: Big run of used tesoro's on ebay

Stayrunner,

You are probably right - not every ice-cream eater likes the same flavor.

I'm just the opposite. I have a Whites, and a Garrett, and had a Minelab, and a couple of others with pretty pictures and lots of information (none that was really correct).

I've given one Whites to my son, one to the other son, kept the antique Whites, sold the Minelab, and kept 2 Tesoros and a Garrett. I'm not a bells and whistles person.
I know every single sound my Tesoro makes. I can tell when its trash, I can tell when its not, and I can usually tell about how far down I have to go, and it is an easy machine to start and go with, and I can pinpoint with it very well.

If/when I get another detector (which I'm sure I will) it will be a water detector.

Does anybody remember the very first thing they found with their detector? I remember the first thing I found with my Tesoro - it was an antique gold pan in Dalonegha, Georgia. Figured it was good luck.

Re: Big run of used tesoro's on ebay

:o
Wow, I don't want to add fuel to this, but I just opened this thread and let me say again :o I was more than a little surprised to see an email I wrote to an eBay seller after I received my uMax with a broken strain relief (see the pic I sent seller below). Ok2raise did sell me this unit - although these are the facts:

- Firstly I'm not on anyones side - I enjoy everyone- like Terry's - good advice and banter.
- I found / purchased this off an International eBay search for a Tesoro - ok2raise was offering shipping to Australia - the price was great so I bought it. ( he sells under a different ebay name and no I won't give up anyones personal info as that is so wrong).
- Upon opening the box - with the factory tape all intact, I took off the foams etc and there was an obvious problem :( If you look at the pic the plastic is also damaged on the very base of the connector. I emailed the seller with the pic and he offered for me to send it back. I was puzzled, cranky about it etc etc - had the seller known it was damaged etc - eBay is always a bit risky etc . As returning the coil would be at my expense and I was already busy on about my second hunt and knew the coil was otherwise fine, I bargained a cleansweep at a rediculously cheap price as compensation for the damage :laughing7:
- The cleansweep coil arrived and I've got to say I was more than happy with it - but USPS INT PRIOR is very slow.
- I've just bought another Tesoro, a Sand Shark from a top bloke in Hawaii - so the broken strain relief has not put me off this brand and I can't wait to get it - hopefully all safe and sound this time. Tesoro only has one dealer in Aust and the prices are extreme compared to yours in the U.S. - you've got to shop around if you "aint flush".
- I don't know ok2raise other than through these eBay transactions.

Re: Big run of used tesoro's on ebay

I should also say - I bought the uMax brand new and on the selling page it was stated that OK2raise was a "Tesoro Dealer". I have filled in and sent in the warranty and would fully expect it to be accepted should I ever need it.

Beth, you have hit on somethign critical here. Using non-metered machines forces you to really get to know your detector and what its trying to tell you. You have to stay with it, but if you do, you will get rewarded handsomely.

Too many of these screen machines give users the impression they don't need to learn their machine, that the screen will tell them everything. What they don't know is the screen is nothing more than the detector making the best guess it can. Sometimes right, often wrong. So they get disappointed, toss it for something else, only to find the same problem again.

Re: Big run of used tesoro's on ebay

Any official Tesoro dealers are forbidden to sell Tesoro products outside of the USA......maybe Tesoro are annoyed that the dealer broke the terms of his agreement ?? Is this part of the problem??

And yes, the price of new Tesoro's are still ridiculously high here in Australia.
That is why I recently managed to get myself two great condition tesoro's from the USA for an amazing price. eBay can be good if you do your homework.

Tony.

Is there somewhere on the internet to nominate this for the "silliest thread of the year" award?
