big wildfire burning by rogers trough

Liked your post Dave....not that I like wildfires.
If it burns the ridge clean though, it might be a good place to go for a look around.
After the rains have had a chance to wash the soot and ashes away. Who knows what you might find up there.

usually the forest service will close a burn area down for quite a while after the fire...might be a while before anyone can get up there

They have their reasons I guess.
Years ago I was told the same thing about another burn area out there. Closer to Four Peaks, where I had been planning to do some hiking and exploring.
Only to find out shortly after I had been warned, that he and a couple of friends had gone in and were posting photos and video of the same area.
Quartz veins, old prospects and ruins etc. Exactly what I had said I wanted to look for.
Only the road through the burn area had been closed to traffic by the FS.

It's called the "Woodbury Fire" and the public is advised to avoid:

Hewitt Station Road (FR 357)
Happy Camp Canyon (FR 650)
Hewitt Canyon Road (FR 172)
Woodbury (TR 114)
Roger’s Canyon (TR 109)
Coffee Flat trails (TR 108)

The fire is at 0% containment now.
