Went out to the old wharf docks and did some mud detecting. My best finds were the two Rev War buttons. A very muddy hunt but productive. Thanks for looking DSCN0647 (2).webpDSCN0644 (2).webp

Holy moly those are cool I'd have no problem getting muddy finding that kind of stuff
Well done. Tommy

Those are two beauties preserved by the muck. Nice work Keith

Wow what a pair of beauties:icon_thumleft:

Those are pretty. Any backmarks?

Wow I would be so excited to find those! I'm curious how deep in the mud did you have to go? I've got a spot that sounds like that but I'm skeptical due to the mud. Very nice. How do the backs look? Rev war or 1812 Era?

Awesome finds! Congrats!

Those are special! A little mud wouldn't get in my way if I knew those were around.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Awesome! They are in great shape.

. The backs are a plain raised boss. Average depth of the layer was around a foot deep. They are Rev War.

Very nice finds my friend! I can say he hurt my feelings..... He found those 20 ft from where I was at while I was pulling a mercury dime out of the mud and a 3 ringer. Know this Mentor my luck is gonna change!!! Congrats on two world class finds!

Awesome finds and condition! Congratulations!

Killer finds, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Great saves in great shape. Congrats!

Great finds! Congrats!

I think you've discovered one of the best kept secrets in metal detecting...find that dirt that's not under a plough, that undisturbed mud preserved those delicate pewters pretty good
Great recoveries on some super finds

Thanks and I love to see those spectacular Rev buttons you recover from your sites!

. Thanks Ironhorse! I also love to see those Rev War era finds you guys make up in Dirtyville. I discovered the mudlarking aspect to this hobby and can sometimes, though rarely, hit on a good site. The right mud can hide some preserved goodies.
