I found this little guy in the water here in Florida. It's about the size of a quarter. I hope there are more there ;)

Damn, nice find and decent condition given where it was found. Nice recovery, have to wonder about it's history and how it ended up where you found it.

rare to see an unbroken/chipped pewter

the thistle suggests a Scottish connection , nice

I just saw a similar that was listed as Revolutionary War button!

Hello Hanging,

Pretty historic button, in wonderful condition, sir. What's the flip side look like?

The 21st Regiment of Foot, or the Royal North Fusiliers were under General Burgoyne's command in his invasion of New York State. Don Troiani's Soldiers of the American Revolution - James Kochan - Google Books
They also fought at Chesapeake, Bladenburg, Capture of Washington, Baltimore, New Orleans in the War of 1812. Service and Uniform of the British Regiments During the War of 1812

Hello Hangingfor8. Nice dig. I hope there are more good finds there. Keep us posted. HH. C9

Very cool find!! Good luck and hope you bag a few more!!

Awesome button!

I'm in that club, and if condition makes one a higher ranking member, you got me.

That's how we would want them, hardly ever happens though! Although I will never forget where I got my nicest (41st that is).

CONGRATS

PS, anything left of the iron shank?

Wow, Wow, WOW! GREAT button there!

that is fantastic...what do you think it was doing down there, were you near a fort? Other than forts, I wasn't aware the British came south of St. Augustine.

Awesome button, I would freak out! Congrats!!
