Awesome that's the kind of coins I would like to find in a spill but my spills are mostly clad. I did find a what and a merc stuck together under a clothes line last year and that put a smile on my face lol. Great hunt!!!!
 

great coins! Sorry to say though that the item you think is a flag topper is not a flag topper....the coins are still the king of the day though, congrats!

It is off of a horse harness collar - folks for years dig them and immediately think that they are flag staff toppers. The reason is that they do look like it should be one, problem is, there is no flag staff ever identified with one, but they do show up on early saddles. Still a cool find.
