Bust half dime and some great buttons

[comfyinvermont]

Well, I am finally able to get back to some detecting. We made a real effort to redo our yard and flower beds this year, and today is about the first day I have been out in months.
Found a great old Inn from the early 1800's and got permission to detect. Found my first Silver bust coin, and she is a beauty. 1830 half dime. Obverse is a very fine and the reverse is XF. Also some great old buttons including an old pewter, tombac and two cast brass. Also a bowl from an old pewter tea spoon and a knife which is probably a bit later. Thanks for looking...Lance

That's not fair! I never find those. ( I'm lying on the ground and kicking and screaming) Zeus

WTG Comfy! I knew you could find the early American silver. I just wish I was with you when you dug it up! Go back to the same place and try again, I'll bet more is waiting for you. Bro

Glad to see you back out Lance....I don't know how you stood it for so long.Great looking half dime...Look's like it was dropped yesterday. How did you manage that place?

Hey Lance,

I know what a thrill you had pulling that Capped Bust from the ground. I found an 1829 Capped Bust half dime back in April. Man was I pysched, since my machine was reading penny, and a Capped Bust Half dime was the furthest thing from my mind. By the way, yours is in nicer shape than mine. WTG!

Oh my God!!! That 1/2 dime is a beauty!!!! That has to be one of your most special finds.

I would love to see a better pic of it. The glare is hiding a lot of the features of that beauty!!!

Nice job, Lance!!

I bet you almost sh*t yourself on that one...I would have done that and smiled, thinking, "There is nothing better than Capped, even with my pants stinkin'."

A Bust coin for a not so busted site! Great job, Mr. Comfert!

Nice finds Lance,

And Congrats on the first bust silver. I'd a thought you would have found more. They are really tough to find. I've found atleast 20 large cents to no silver of that time era.

I've dug over a 100 colonial buttons. No bust coin for me yet either. That one is a real beauty Lance. Good luck in the future there.
