CALIFORNIA MUD SLIDES

The devastation from mudslides and the loss of life and property is so very sad, hard to comprehend how folks recover from that.
But I was just wondering if disasters such as this ever uncover and revele new gold veins. It would seem like that is a possibility with so much overburden removed. Much like beach hunting after a major storm. Anyone ever had experience with this?

And they wonder why they can't get homeowner's policies .

Cal law won't let insurance companies deny insurance. So they all can get policies. They are expensive and they can afford it. They have high deductibles too like living in Hurricane zones in Florida.

It might be possible, has any gold been found in Montecito area before?
are there any quartz veins in the area?

I have not heard of anyone finding gold in this particular area of California. The gold is more north and more south. But hey this may change now.

That's true. But the insurance companies know how to take care of themselves . Like you say ,super expensive and very high deductibles and clauses and fine print , so on and so forth. I was a building inspector in the So Kal area for over 20 years . There must be 100s of tracts and condos built in washes beneath canyons. Amazing . You can fool Mother Nature for a little while maybe, but not forever.
