Got a chance to get out for a bit yesterday and came across this interesting button. It shows a camel with palm trees and a pyramid in the background. I found it in an area that produced a couple civil war mini balls and one eagle general service two piece button. I've never seen a button like this before. I'd guess it's a variation of a civilian flat button, as it's a one piece button. There are no marks on the back to help identify it, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help, and hope I can get an ID!

Happy Hunting!

-Nate

Thanks for the suggestion, but it's definitely a button. There is a shank on the back, but no markings to suggest a manufacturer. Cool looking coin though!

For what it is worth, here is a link to a thread from a few years ago. Same button:

DCMatt

Thanks DCMatt - Someone on another forum posted this same link and it looks like they decided it was a Victorian Picture button. I've gotta read up on that a bit, but that's what they seemed to think it was. I also PMed that guy to find out where in Virginia he found it. Was curious about their proximity to each other. Thanks for the link... Take care!
