is't it also Known as
the 30th. of May ?

Why are they saying this saturday is Memorial day weekend ?

when the 30th. isn't till the next weekend ?

Or Did I Miss a week & The 30th. is here Saturday already ?

Memorial Day is May 30th. That is the traditional date (and also my birthday!)

But as someone stated, it is celebrated for school and federal closings (and whomever wants to close their businesses) on the last Monday of the month of May. Usually I am celebrating my birthday on the weekend, but every now and then, the celebrated date lands on the weekend before the traditional date, as in this year.

But May 30th is Memorial Day...but the last Monday in May is the observed date.

since the 31st is sunday this year it should have been monday last year since a leap year. that's most likely why you thought it was the 30th. siegfried schlagrule
