As someone who has thousands of buttons & us Brits wouldn't give a penny for, I am always amazed at the crazy prices collectors pay ::) :o

Pre-CSA...It could have something to do with the Mexican War(s), perhaps?

More than likely just some dude with his old coat living in Cali, eventually... or maybe a family member years later... either way it's an authentic early 1850s ACC button - wow!

I'm glad I asked you what was on the front Peachinator... holy moly...

Well if you found several & you could part with one (not that I could) I guess it helps upgrade to a better machine 8)

No Jim, not with the Whites. I found that with the Ace 250 spring/summer 2007.

Wow Wow WOW!!!! :o That's one HECK of a button, Kitty Fruit!

Congratulations on a great find there! We go YEARS without finding them here in the east!

Excellent ID Jim and others. Go back through those "junk" boxes! I had a knapsack hook in a junk box for several years back when I started before I figured out what the heck it was. Now I save everything--too much probably LOL.

Way to go!
