"marked" ? Why must it be "marked" ? (as in ... a sign or something?). Last I checked, the street in front of my house is not marked "public street".
I totally agree not to fence hop into private property. But your "marked" statement has me mystified. Why can't a person (if they are skittish) look it up on color coded maps. D/t the marvelous invention of the internet. And see where different entities of land (city, state, county, federal, etc...) are clearly shown in color codes.
