Can you tell me the age of this?

Found this today, artillery pin. I'm thinking WW2? because of the screw back. I have found some earlier coins at this site though. Just wondering if anyone can verify the age. The back is the size of a dime.

I'm guessing at the era - post WW II - but I CAN tell you it's an officer's hat pin, not enlisted (the enlisted would have been on a round disk background).

Screw backs like that are almost always pre to mid WW2. The odd thing about yours is that it seems to be missing the disc that it should be attached to. I can't tell by the photo but does the screw back fit flush against the canons or does it stick out a bit?
