Canadian Silver...any opinions?

I have an opportunity to buy 110 Canadian dimes for spot. Is there anything I should be wary of? Some are 1967 but most are 1966 or older. Do these sell as well as US silver? Thanks!

To me silver is silver. But I do know my lcs won't buy them as he can't sell them very well. I would buy.

I'd buy for spot and flip for something U.S.

Most coin shops around here pay around spot for them, no loss of a premium when it comes to selling when compared to US junk silver (I mean, naturally they aren't going to pay 90% silver prices for 80% silver...)

And naturally you can sell them on eBay. Silver is silver.

67 and 68's are 50% silver, I believe.

The changes were mid-year. So, 67's can be 50% or 80%. 68's can be 50% or stick to a magnet.

Buy them, but treat the 1967s as 65%ers.

buy them and I'll buy them from you for 12 cents and pay shipping you make 2 cents on each one no buy them and sell them for junk silver you should make about 80 cents on each one. Good luck and enjoy the profits I always buy silver no matter what county they are from let me check on them I will get back with the value of each

1920 - 1967 is 80 % silver and 1967 - 1968 is 50% silver if they are all 80 % it is 154.71 in melt value how much can you buy them for and how much can you sell them for I thought you said you could buy for value as in a dime a piece. I would buy buy buy at that price...

If you try to flip them on eBay make sure you list them correctly; I recently got a '66 Canadian dime for $0.99, free shipping because it was listed in the wrong section and made no mention of silver (roughly 70% of spot, so I was very happy).

Well.....it turns out the dimes were not dimes but rather british six pence. All 1947 thru the 1960s. I do not believe any silver. Is there much other value for these coins? I didnt buy.

They are copper-nickel. Britain used silver until 1946. The only one worth buying would be a 1952, which has a mintage of just over 1 million. The rest are worth like a $1 in XF.

The LCS's in my area paid no more than 50c ea. for 1967 and silver 1968 Canadian dimes, that was silver @ $33 spot. One was not interested at any price. I've kept all my 80% silver Canadian.

Sure, some are 80%, some are 50% - The only way to tell is with Specific Gravity, or an autistic system, rigged up for a ping test. So in other words, they are all 50%. Low ball this guy on those dimes. They retail for spot. Not a terrific deal.

Grabbed....got abot 300 sixpence.....did find 2 silver.....will keep a aet foe my collection and barter the rest
