Ah, I just get out and swing my Manticore for the exercise, not to find anything valuable. When it's bad weather, I get on my treadmill and swing it while I walk. I burn extra calories that way.

You need to find a good old swimming hole, or, popular beach.

I like your strategy. Eliminate all the places where there is nothing to find first so you can knock it out of the park on the remainder of the sites.

We have all had dry streaks and if you aren't doing so, I would recommend you start verifying your machine is set up at the best possible starting point and dig every signal to learn what your machine is saying. Then spread out your search area. If people have been there, there are things to find.

Most important though, is don't give up. Good stuff is out there.

If you are an experienced hunter, I don't know you, please don't be offended by my suggestions. I am only hoping I can help get that GOLDEN smile on your face.

Keep going CH. Since nothing in life is ever 100%, the odds are in your favor that you're gonna find some gold or silver. Are there any other beaches in your area or within a reasonable drive that you can hit, or are you hitting the same beach every hunt?

Nobody wins 100% of the time, and I don't think anyone loses 100% of the time, as long as they keep going and have persistence. The only way a person can really & totally lose, is if they quit.

After all, even a blind squirrel runs into a nut every now and then, lol.

I hit multiple locations at two different beaches that are heavily-visited.

3 hours at Clearwater Beach last night and all I found was .31 cents, plenty of foil along with pull tabs and cans.
You can walk a mile in the water and not get a sound other than iron nulls.
Almost every other detectorist had a machine with a target ID.
(My guess is they're passing up everything not gold or silver).

I thought it was just me. Not only do I not find any gold or silver, or just find pull tabs and foil, I don't get any signals at all at Clearwater Beach when I'm in the water (maybe one signal every 30 minutes). I realize that lots of detectorists are hunting there, but there's also a ton of beachgoers going there every day losing stuff. I guess it's all getting snapped up by the hunters. Lately I've been gridding the hard-packed surf sand. I get a few signals there, but I'm still just getting bottle caps and tent pegs. On 33 beach trips to Clearwater Beach and Indian Rocks, I've found one single silver item, with everything else being trash. I also go in the water at Indian Rocks, but the result is the same as Clearwater Beach - silence. No signals at all.

Are all beaches like this, or is this normal? I was thinking of going to St. Pete Beach. It can't be any worse there.

I have better luck at out of the way smaller beaches.Ocean city Md is hit hard.I have to go really slow and dig all the small signals there.I Like going to smaller beaches along the bay.Much more productive.
